Short Courses
5 December 2022
Since the first ENC symposia, short courses were provided and the 2022 meeting continue this long standing tradition. Registration is mandatory. Please make your registration at your personal area("booking" menu) and if you require further assistance contact Cátia Martins (catiamartins@ua.pt)
Participants will receive a certificate of participation, in each will be included the program and number of hours of the short course.
Multidimensional chromatography and mass spectrometry: tools for future challenges
Regina Duarte, Department of Chemistry & CESAM, University of Aveiro
Sónia Santos, Department of Chemistry & CICECO, University of Aveiro
Cátia Matins, Department of Chemistry & LAQV/REQUIMTE, University of Aveiro
BRIEF SUMMARY
The course will include an overview of multidimensional techniques, namely GCxGC, LCxLC and tandem mass spectrometry.
The different techniques will be introduced, the cases for which each one can be applied and how the data processing is a key strategy in the analysis and characterization of different compounds and/or different matrices (food, environmental, natural products) will be discussed.
Participants will have the opportunity to put hands-on and get closed to the equipments. In a case-study the same matrix will be analysed in GCxGC and LCxLC. Key strategies for the optimization of separation will be discussed. Identification of compounds by MSn will be addressed to proceed in a final stage to the quantification of compounds.
